Events at Artscape Gibraltar Point

Artscape Gibraltar Point is Artscape’s most unique and tranquil property located in a secluded park setting with its own beachfront on Toronto Islands. Opened in 2000, the project was catalyzed by a group of Toronto Island residents who contacted Artscape when the historic former Toronto Island Public and Natural Science School was threatened with demolition. Working with the City of Toronto, Artscape created a new vision for the site that included an artists’ lodge and retreat centre, and long-term artist work studios.

  • No corkage fees. Serve your own with Special Occasions Permit.

Getting There

  • Address: 443 Lakeshore Avenue, Toronto Islands
  • Getting to the Ferry Docks: Located at Bay Street and Queen’s Quay West (10 min walk from Union Station). Public transit to the docks includes the Bay #6 bus and the Harbourfront LRT. There is ample public parking in the area.
  • Private Ferry Service: We now offer a private ferry service that delivers guests to the lagoon directly across the street from Artscape Gibraltar Point. The St. Marie ferryboat accommodates up to 100 people and is the same rate per person as the city ferry. Groups can schedule their own time for pick up and drop off. Contact Captain Simon of the St. Marie at 416-627-3565 to plan your voyage.
  • Public Ferry Service: City ferries run to Centre Island, Hanlan’s Point and Ward’s Island, each a 20-30 min walk to Artscape Gibraltar Point. You can also cycle, rollerblade or make arrangements with us in advance for a shuttle. The fare for the ferry is $7.00 return for adults and there are discounts available for groups of 10 or more.
