Events at Artscape Gibraltar PointArtscape Gibraltar Point is Artscape’s most unique and tranquil property located in a secluded park setting with its own beachfront on Toronto Islands. Opened in 2000, the project was catalyzed by a group of Toronto Island residents who contacted Artscape when the historic former Toronto Island Public and Natural Science School was threatened with demolition. Working with the City of Toronto, Artscape created a new vision for the site that included an artists’ lodge and retreat centre, and long-term artist work studios. Artscape Gibraltar Point offers a variety of affordable space rentals and is ideal for staff retreats, meetings and seminars, weddings, festivals and community events. What we offer:

Getting ThereArtscape Gibraltar Point is located on the tip of Toronto Island, and coming to the island is easy. The Island Ferry Docks, located at Bay Street and Queen’s Quay West, are a ten minute walk from Union Station. Public transit to the docks includes the Bay #6 bus and the Harbourfront LRT. There is ample public parking in the area. Bicycles can be taken on the ferry although some restrictions may apply during peak periods. The fare for the ferry is $6.50 return for adults. Once you are on the island, you can walk, cycle, rollerblade or make arrangements with us in advance for a shuttle bus pickup. Artscape Gibraltar Point is approximately a twenty minute walk from the Centre Island docks, or thirty minutes from the Ward’s or Hanlan’s docks – just follow the signs. |
